Well, it doesn't look like I can make this event once again (chances are looking slim with kid's activities). Is there someone that will be there that can keep the event running smoothly? You can do the event but just need to help the instructors and get the food set up.

Re: EVO School April 29th
What is an Evo 3 school? how is it differnt from 1 and 2 which i have attended?
Re: EVO School April 29th
I guess I should call it Challenge School. Here is the info from the website:
EVOLUTION CHALLENGE SCHOOL
Have you taken Phase 1 and Phase 2? Have you got some autocrossing seat time under your belt and reached a place where shaving time on course seems to be impossible? Are you trying to keep up on your looking ahead and thinking ahead? The Challenge school is for you!
The Challenge school forces students to combine everything they have previously learned, but on a longer, quicker, national style, real world autocross course, complete with quick slaloms and hard "shut downs". Our goal is to drive home the Phase 1 and Phase 2 concepts and make sure you still are using them while increasing the length of time on course. In addition, you will receive instant feedback and one on one training, this time from a slightly different perspective. This school has different meaning for every person that takes it. Come with an open mind and the willingness to try things you normally would have left at home.
We want everyone to drive at 10/10ths and we will encourage it!!!

Re: EVO School April 29th
Im new to the forums here but im genuinely interested in competitive driving. I want to learn and was wonder if and when you guys are doing the phase 1 & 2 again.
Re: EVO School April 29th
Hey! I'm not sure if I can fit another school in this year but I will probably start off with a Phase 1 next spring. However, for the best experience is just to come to a few events. We would definitely help you get going in the right direction

Re: EVO School April 29th
Awesome! I definately plan on attending more than a few! Are there opportunities to get track time for first timers? I have never been on a track but i drive the highways and streets like they are. I was also wondering about open track days where a guy could take a little banger and rip it around?
Re: EVO School April 29th
We run auto-crosses here in town and at the Helena Facility. The Porsche Club has track/driver education events at the track in Lewistown twice a year. I think there may be some other events at the Helena Facility (drift and some kind of open track day) but I haven't been there for them.

For clarification... We don't run "track" events. An autocross is a timed event where each course is set in a large lot with cones (typically somewhat different each time). The speeds are typically moderate (local events are under a max of 45-60, the Helena events with more space could get faster, but not dramatically so). Its also a red flag for some of us when you talk about driving on public roads like they are a track. We don't want to be associated with reckless behavior, and we certainly don't encourage or condone it.

Re: EVO School April 29th
Thanks for the clarification kjohnson and apologies for not explaining myself there. I dont view pulic roads as a track necessarily (since i havent really been on one) but i do like to go a little faster than usual and hug the corners on the highway using my lane paint as a no cross boundry. And gunning it from light to light on occasion. I like to push my car's limits, I'm 22 ,what else can i say! By the way, its not big or fast, its a 96 toyota tercel with 255k on it.

Motorsports site doesn't show any entry's yet. Do you have a minimum number of entry's and a sign up closing date?

You have to register for it to show up. Right now there are 8 registered. I don't believe there is a minimum number of entries. We were down last year and the instructors made it work just fine. Looks like it closes at midnight on April 27th.
