First event officials needed and generator info

Postby rkaiser » Tue Apr 19, 2011 12:00 pm

I'm looking for a brave person to be Safety Steward for the first Commons event. I should be able to cover backup steward.

Also, I have purchased the club's generator. If those working on timing want to get it for testing and such, please let me know.

Thanks for getting the generator. Our timing gear is a bit spread out, but we really should make an attempt to test it before heading in to the first even. Coby has the computer and timing box, I have the lights, and you have the generator. Hopefully we can get all the stuff over to the Nicks and they can test it once they get new cables finished.

I can be safety steward for the event.

Russ...I would like to be SS or assistant SS for the event...I like to get my two required event SS requirements well out of the way before August, when my liscense renews...oh and for Russ and Dave K--we visited a Lotus dealership in Phoenix area yesterday...we have a brochure (in hardback like a book) for you to see...nice rides, tho the dealership is 1st and formost Fararri...did not do a test drive cause you know what that leads to...last time we did that was in Vegas and the MX-5 followed us home....

No worries Mel Ken got SS first and you can be back up. Was that Scottsdale Lotus you were at? Stopped in there a long time ago to look at them when I was down for my brother-in-laws wedding. My uncle has spent a fair chunk of change at that place.

yes, it was Scottsdale...the sales guy was great fun to talk with...I had a hard time squeezing into the new ones...he told me about a car guy 6'5" and 350 lbs who did not fit on an new Elise, so the buyer had them take the roof off...while they were doing that he left, came back in and hour and bought the car...when the sales guy asked about the roof, the buyer said "just leave it off, I'll park it in the garage and only take it out in nice weather"...sounds like unlimited discretionary money to me...but fun to hear about that kind of car passion...they had an Eleven 2 that was not street legal---sold for track use only...brand new....fun

Um, it's red. Looks kinda nice sitting next to the Lotus.

This can probably explain it much better than I can: http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/products/modeldetail.aspx?page=modeldetail&section=P2GG&modelname=EU1000i&modelid=EU1000IKN

Russ:
Good choice, it should be a pretty trouble free, smooth running, and quiet model. And small and easy to haul, even in a Lotus. Not long now before we will get to try it out.
