Annual Tech Inspection

Postby MikeJ » Tue Jan 15, 2008 10:27 am

In an effort to expedite registration and recognize our drivers' excellence,
SWMTSCCA is implementing annual tech for our veteran drivers.

To qualify you must have been a member for 2 years and have attended at least 5 events per year.

A tech sheet still must accompany the registration sheet at each event, but that tech sheet is completed by the participant instead of the tech crew.

I have the roster and results compiled and will forward this data to our Chief of Tech.

This is not a free pass as you are still responsible for the condition of your vehicle.
Random inspections will be done to ensure strict adherence to our teching policies and checklist.

All vehicles will be inspected by Chief of Tech (or appointee) at your first event attendance.

"Member for 2 years", meaning Region 52 specifically, or SCCA member?

So............... assuming that the weather ends up being better than the forecast shows it might be and we do end up running this weekend do we have the list of folks eligible for the annual tech? Do we have the stickers to to put right in the middle of their windshield?

I'd like to start checking annual guys off that list.

Thanks,

dave

What about those of us that got an annual sticker at the Region 38 event on the 11th?
Will that sticker be good for both clubs?

I'm getting the idea that Dave just wants to plaster stickers all over our windshields so we can't see!

No, it's just for SWMT members. We can't keep track of all the other regions.

Since it's our club taking the responsibility our club will do it's own annual tech and will not honor other regions inspections. This is not because I think another club does a poor job in teching but because it's our neck on the line if something went awry.

So this will give me a chance to put the 12" x 12" stickers I had made right in the center of all your windshields for safety.
