In need of seats

Postby TuckerMadison » Mon Dec 01, 2014 11:23 am

Hey, if anyone has any leads on some Miata friendly seats for sale, I would be very thankful. The seats just need to have holes for a harness, and once again to be Miata friendly. Thanks!

Doesn't Ultrashield make a spec miata seat?

They do, but I was hoping for a cheaper/road-trip friendly option.

From my experience a full on held-in-a-vice race seat is the best thing one can do to a solo car and none of them are great for a road trip........those two demands are at the opposite ends of the spectrum.

I'm not sure what one can find that lands in the middle of that continuum.........

Corbeau seats will probably be the least expensive and they have seat rails for your car. Probably best to figure out what your budget is first.

I had Corbeau Clubman seats in my '68 911, and I really liked them. They were pretty comfortable, and held me in place well. Plus they aren't too expensive.

I think im going to have to go with Corbeau. The clubman's or the a4's, and so im glad to hear you liked them Joe, do you remember if they had a removable cushion or not? Dave, the reason im having to choose between a good solo seat and a good autocross seat is because my roll bar is interfering with the stock seat belts, so im going to go with "Street Safe" 4 point, and will need a seat with harness holes in the shoulder. Im not needing much more side support, just need some more safety. You also have to remember that Billings to Helena is never a very smooth drive  Thanks guys!

I don't remember if the cushions were just velcro-ed in, or sewn in.

Keep in mind that 4 point belts (unless they are designed specifically for the car like Schroth "quick-fit") are not allowed at PCA events (Lewistown), so if you can retain your stock 3 point, or fit a anti-sub belt your set-up will be more versatile.

Thanks for the info. I was planning on going with a Schroth (only company I trust on the street) I was thinking about there "PROFI II ASM FE". But now you have me rethinking about what to go with. I do like the anti submarining technology that Schroth offers. My stock seat belts have a hard time working correctly with my roll bar, and have gotten fraid pretty badly. So if there are any suggestions on this to it would help.
