Storage space?

Postby DaveMk1 » Tue Oct 17, 2006 6:58 am

It's that time of the year when I need to think about finding a storage spot for the Birkin for this winter.

I'm wondering if anyone has an extra slot that the little guy might fit in. I'll be happy to pay a reasonable sum. If I can't find a spot with a friend I'll rent a storage locker and go that route. But I'd rather give the money to some I know than to some locker company.

As a incentive bonus the person that can help me out will get as many free autocross laps in Russ' Elise as the tires will take. Enjoy!

well, I was going to offer you a spot but now....

I may be looking into getting a storage for the Lotus too since the garage expansion doesn't seem to be getting finished by winter time. I have to get some more info from the builder to see what's going on. If we get it closed up and there is room for the little Birkin I'll let you know.

However, it might not be a good idea for me to find out that I can fit 3 cars in the garage

Wow how long does it take to build a garage? Hasn't it been a year? LOL I catch hell if the results are 11 days late

hmmm,
I am going to store my 911 this winter too, I'll probably get running just in time to drive it to storage.
The last two winters I rented a 10'xsomething unit at All Valley on Valley Center. Its about $45/month, and I only keep it there for about 3 months.
It would sure be nice to find something moderately climate controled though.
If you find anything that we could split the cost on, let me know.

I had honestly hoped it would have been done a month or two ago. However, as of right now it has a long way to go.

Count me in for sharing a spot too unless the garage magically gets finished in the next couple of weeks.

Does it make any sense to look for a place that can hold a number of cars and go in on together? I wonder if that would be cheaper than getting regular single car storage rooms?

Thoughts?

My only concern would be that Russ' car would not be able to control itself and that we'd walk in on it doing the deed with the Birkin. Whoa...scary thought.

But do to an odd and rarely known phenomenon having something to do with Northern and Southern hemispherical conjugation and the divide by zero error, they would end up 1/32 scale e.g. Matchbox cars. Depending on which one was the sire and which was the bitch, you may only end up with an oily stain on the floor. Either way look pretty grim.

I'd have to say that Rusty's is the bitch.....not that there is anything wrong with that.

P.S. Mike you are so wise.
