What's up

Postby TEAM PAYNE » Sun Sep 24, 2006 6:55 pm

I was wondering who is going back to Heartland Park, and if anyone was taking a lap top to keep us updated? Robert and I went out to Fourcorners to a secret lot to brake in the rebuilt kart motor today. It still seems to run. We stopped by the indoor kart track and saw Craig, who it turns out we know from Bridger, the track is still moving forward and he hopes to have it open in the next month. It should be a blast. We can even put together an SCCA league. On another note he mentioned that Mr. Ressler of Ressler Chevorlet has a little road coarse N.E. of Fourcorners. We used goggle earth to check it out and sure enough there is a track just NE Fourcorners. I am wondering if anyone else knows of this and have we looked into using it?

I knew he had a track but have been told that it is very small. I don't believe that it would work for autocross.

That is very small. I tried to measure it and figured that it was under 1/4 mile in length. Probably tighter then the courses we usually set up. Pretty sure it is just a kart track allthough Dave's and Russ's cars just might be small enough to be fun.

We've known about this for a while, but I didn't even think to approach him about it since its private land, and it does look narrow.

:edit: I just looked at the link Russ posted, and it does look wider. A couple years ago I kinda snuck in for a close look at it, and in person, at that time, it looked very narrow.

I don't know him but they owe me for the crappy trade-in value they gave us for our Ford

You also need to realize that this man just spent $1,000,000 at Barrett Jackson for the oldest Corvette in existence. Corvette #2. To say that he loves Chevrolet would be an understatement. Once the new dealership is built he will be putting a Corvette museum at the bodyshop location(the old Simpson Honda building)

Even though the area that the track is on is larger then the Ice Garden I have a feeling that there is more asphalt at the Ice Garden. Now there is a road going around that field that might be interesting. Looks to be about a mile long total. If it was wide enough we could have some very long slaloms :x I just don't believe any of this would work well for autocross. Maybe someone should get dave interested in autocross and talk to him about Paveing the field. :D

Ressler mainly races karts on there but he takes his vettes on it as well. My roomate and i worked at the quicklube at ressler for a while and he got to know Resslers daughters pretty well. I have always haggled him to ask them to get us on that track and he hasnt done it yet. I bet they would let us out there one of the days he was out of town  - Wade
