Sweet lil '85 Toyota MR2 for sale down at DickWalters East

Postby WRX-B » Sat Nov 13, 2004 1:08 pm

Attention Ray! and anyone else who would be looking for a mean lil AutoX'er.

85 with only 80K miles, white w/ black interior.

I went down there this morning to check it out. It was covered in an inch of frost but looked super clean. Evidently, it was owned from new by some older folks that had plenty of cars to drive.

I tried to fit inside this car, not too good of a match for me, unfortunately. I would love to snap this sucker up! (i think i could drop the seat a little bit and maybe a body shop could bump out the roof for me)

Anyway, just thought i'd let everyone know about this machine. Anybody remember how fast Ridgely was in his MR2? (almost as fast as his motor mouth)

Later,

Rick B

I checked that out this morning. It is really clean, and I really like the '85s. No body cladding, no wing, it's cool.
Rick, do you know how much $$?

Not sure at the moment on what kind of bucks they are asking on it.......probably four G's or so. Its in amazing shape for a 20 year old car, only 80K miles. I would think that one wouldnt need to do anything, besides maybe tires, to have a contender for top times 'round our cones.

I just need to figure out how to alter the car so i can fit!

I'm sure a chainsaw or a sledgehammer would work nicely :) We could make it into a T-Top!

$4000 is more then I can afford. If I could pick one up around $1500 I would think about it.

No disrespect to DW, but that car is really only worth $1500, even though it is so clean.

Looks like they are asking $3495 for it. Still very high in my opinion. Over the past 2 years of looking locally I have found 3 decent 85's under a grand. They might not have been as clean as this one but still very good runners. Now that I want to buy one I cant find one.

Anyway high NADA book price is $2000. I doubt DW even gave that much for the car because I don't know of a dealer that would give more then book value on a car. I guess RB would know for sure. Because it is so clean there is a good chance that they will be able to sell it for $3495 to some poor soul.

I know what they put into the car down there, and it is way too much.
Someone musta hit there head down there.

My first reaction to what they put into that trade was 'thats retardedly high'

This car is super nice, especially for a 20 year old machine. It'll probably sit there a long time till they are ready to loose money to sell it. (must have been a 'special' circumstance on this trade in) Maybe that time will be Springtime!

Hey RB,

It looks like DW didn't have any takers at $3500 so they raised the price to $5,000  . I just looked up high NADA book value on that car and it is only $2000. You tell DW that you know of a buyer willing to give high NADA book value. Of course you will also be the Salesman. Not sure where I would come up with the $2,000 but I am sure DW wouldn't go for it anyway. I would love to have the car if the price was fair. BTW, I didn't think it was fair at $3500.

Saw this car in Belgrade today with a sticker in the back window. Looks like it sold, wonder what he paid.
It sure is clean, it caught my eye right away :)
