This coming weekend features a double header with two days of racing in Bozeman and we hope you all can come for either or both days.
Saturday will be our annual "Index Event". The SWMT SCCA has been hosting the Index Event at the Commons in Bozeman every year since 2012 and it's the highlight of our local race season. The Index Event is run on an identical course every year so that drivers can compare their times this year to years past, as well as to other drivers over the years in the same class. It's a great way to see how your car or driver upgrades have paid off and give you ample opportunity for barroom bragging rights!
There are two special awards presented at the Index Event provided by the good people at the Montana Ale Works of Bozeman. The first is a $50 gift certificate presented to the most improved driver from last year (driver needs to compete in the same class 2016 and 2017) and the second is another $50 gift certificate presented to the driver who is most improved in PAX from last year. At the end of the day we will be having a low key BBQ on the grass at the Commons to cap off the day - all are invited and food is provided by the SWMT SCCA.
So come and beat your own time from last year and enjoy some food and drink on the house presented by Montana Ale Works and stick around for a burger and tell lies about how that cone tipped over on its own and you would have won otherwise.
Sunday we will be moving just a few miles away to Cardinal Distributing for another day of competition. The Cardinal lot allows for higher top speeds and has a wonderful elevation gain and loss that makes for some very fun sections. We will also be playing the "Buck in a glass" game. The Buck in a glass game is a type of bracket racing.....drivers make their morning runs and then do their best to guess their best afternoon time will be and they put a dollar bill in an Autoworks FTD glass to bet on it. The driver who guessed the closest to their best afternoon time gets the FTD glass and the money in it!
We look forward to having both locals and out-of-towners joining us for a few fun days of intense and fun competition.
