Trailer work day Sunday June 11 @10:00

Postby mdlfCRXs » Tue Jun 06, 2017 7:27 pm

Wondering what to do on a no autocross weekend?
You are in luck!

On Sunday June 11 we will meet up at 10:00.

We are having a work day to get our new trailer prepped and ready for use. Loren has graciously offered to let us use his driveway for the project. It would be great if a few club members can come out and lend a hand. Even for an hour or two. With few people pitching in we should get the job done in a short time.

We will be constructing a desk and some storage racks as the major items.

Directions to Lorens house:
4343 East Baseline Rd
Belgrade, MR

Take Springhill road north almost to mile 5. The Elk statues on the corner mark the spot.

Thank you and I hope to see you there!

I've got to move everything out of the first floor of my house that day to get ready for new flooring. I will try to help if that goes fast.

Anybody want to help me move furniture?

Sorry Kent i already promised to help with the trailer! Sounds like fun though.

We could get materials ahead of time but not sure what we need.

If we had a plan ahead of time

Plywood
Screws of the right length
Brackets?
In my vision we could use 1x1 or 1x2 for desk supports at the edges. I can explain later.
I will pick up the cable passthru access door.

I dont want to waste time either.
A sheet of good 1/2 inch or 3/4? Inch plywood for the desk.

We put a shopping list together if we have a plan. Any volunteers? I can get some items i thinkwe will need and maybe stuff i have at home too.

Do we need steel for racks? Anyone know where and what to get ahead of time.
Or plywood and lumber for racks?

What else?

Loren has offered tool to use, i can bring some too.

I'm thinking it might be best if we meet, take a look at the trailer and come up with a shopping list and go buy stuff. I'm not even sure what the floor and wall materials are so have no idea what will be the best way to attach stuff to them.

If we meet and come up with a plan a few guys can start the clean up and prep of the trailer while a few others can head to Lowes to pick stuff up. The Lowes is only about 10 minutes away.

One big task that we might have trouble dealing with in one day is putting a plexiglass window on the opening at the front of the trailer. There is currently a big opening and when the awning is lifted it's fully open. I suspect we will need to measure it and have a piece cut to fit and then figure out a way to affix it.
