MT-C points schedule?

Postby DaveMk1 » Mon Jul 23, 2012 8:43 am

Word on the street is that this years MT-C series will be scored on points but I for one don't know how the points thing will work. How many points will be given to each placing? I'm sure there are many who would like to run the numbers and see where they stand and start scheming for what they need to do to take it at Top Gun.

I found Adam Granley's post which mentions the point breakdowns: http://bigskyregion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=194

Points for position awarded as:

1st place: 10 points
2nd place: 8 points
3rd place: 6 points
4th place: 5 points
5th place: 4 points
6th place: 3 points
7th place: 2 points
8th place: 1 point

The results look a little weird at the moment, when I get a chance I will get them fixed. The order is correct, and the times are correct, but the way axware generates reports off of a 2 day event it lists the rankings (first two columns) based off of the two day combined results. For example, Joe Robbins in the kart, placed 2nd overall on day 2. But because he didn't run on Saturday, it lists his place as 63rd, because he didn't have a time for Saturday. What I need to do in order to display real rankings each day is split the event into two one day events, instead of one two day event.

That out of the way, I for one had an awesome time. The car felt great (especially on Sunday), and my coolant leak didn't stop me from getting home, although it did leave a big puddle on the garage floor last night (BAD CAR!)

While I would have loved to have gotten faster in my last three runs, I can't help but be impressed by the consistency of my Sunday afternoon performance... 64.002, 64.061, 64.028. Three runs in a row within .059 of each other.

A great big thanks to Marry for letting me borrow her car. Even though my standings for the weekend weren't great I had a lot of fun! I hope she wasn't too upset about the way I drove it.

At least my times were fairly consistent on Sunday, but I got my fastest time on my second run. Like always, the faster I try to drive the slower I go.

As far as the MT-C goes, has there ever been a tie, after 3 events, in the past? How is a tie handled?

I can forsee the possibility of a tie for 1st place in SM, if the right conditions are met and the stars align on Aug 26th....

Arm wrestling would be good, but I think we'll go by total time.

That's my birthday so they will only align for me :) However, I'm the only one in my class so I've got the hardest opponent to beat and he's not very nice to me sometimes - takes advantage of my fragile ego.
