Christmas - thank you cards.

Postby DaveMk1 » Sun Nov 27, 2011 9:25 am

I have a memory of a gnat and can't recall how we were going to handle this but as I recall we were going to send thank you cards to our race site hosts as a small gesture of how much we appreciate them letting us use their lots to play on this year. We of course have 4 lot owners to thank - Commons, Cardinal, MSU and Helena - and I have the contact for MSU and the Commons but not for Cardinal or Helena. I think it would be great to send each a card with a photo or two of us having a good responsible time on their lot.

I know we took photos at Cardinal at our last event but don't know who has those.

I'm perfectly happy to get the ball rolling on this but will need a few good photos from each lot (a mix of driving and people standing around smiling a lot would be good) and the contact/address info for the various lot owners.

What do you all think? I think it's a small thing we can do that would help assure that we have use of the lots again next year. It was great having 4 different places to race this past season and the first time this has happened and I think we should do everything we can to let the owners know how much we appreciate the use of their lots.

Thoughts?

Dave great idea...I don't take pictures, but I know Ron did, I think James took some, and Alice was at a number of events and may have taken some...photo bugs--you out there to share your work?

Thanks for volunteering to get going on this Dave. I don't have contact addresses for anyone, I'm thinking Russ is our best bet with that. I also don't have any photos, so can't help you out there. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you out with.

I'll look through my photos. I don't recall taking any of people smiling or standing around...just frowning and sitting...lol j/k. I think they are mostly of individual drivers during their runs. I'll take a look. I do recall taking some photos at Divisionals this year. I'll see what I can come up with.

I think Russ has the disk with the group pictures we took at Cardinal.

I think this is a great idea, I'll help anyway I can.

So I went through some of my pics and uploaded the ones I thought turned out ok. I forgot that I took some group pics during the awards presentation at the first event at the Commons this year. I wish I had more chances to take more pics this year. Hard to fit in picture taking between working and driving. 8)

Pics

If anyone wants a full resolution photo in that album, let me know and I'll be happy to get one over to you.

So who has the photos that were shot at that last cardinal event. I want to say Mike's g-friend shot some from on top of the van. Those would be the ones to send to cardinal.

Here are some of the pics from cardinal. I am going to try to get some of the other photos I took this year up when I get some time.

Five cards with photos made up and going out tomorrow -

Commons
MSU
Helena
Cardinal
Autoworks

Feels good to have that done. Now I need to replace my radiator.

Hey,

When I bought the car a few years back I knew it had a slow leak in the rad and was able to get a better price on the car because of it. The rad isn't all that spendy but changing it requires all the front body work be removed so I had some leverage. I bought a new aftermarket rad that is made just for the Elise and it gets rave reviews and I installed it and all was good.........until this summer when I noticed coolant smell a few times. Long story short - the rad has a leak and the folks I bought it from are giving me a new one and now I just need to take the old one out and send it back. So off comes all the front orange stuff soon.

Bummer that the new radiator had a leak in it too. At least they're giving you a replacement, but you still have to do all the work.
