2004 GTO. Did Pontiac do something right?

Not sure if any of you have seen the info on it but I will give you a brief rundown.
Engine: 350 hp LS1 with a true dual exhaust.
tranny: either a 6 spd Manual or a 4L60E 4spd auto.
4 wheel independent suspension and I believe 245/45-17 tires.

As long as Pontiac dosen't end up overpricing it I think it will sell because the only other GM performance car left is the Corvette.
1990 Mazda Miata. Most fun you can have with only 116 HP!!!!!!

Even though I am not totally sold on the styling I do think the car itself is a step in the right direction. It's supposed to compete with cars like the Mustang Cobra. Even though I am not a Ford fan I like the looks of Mustang Cobras. IMHO, because of a rather bland car with rather bland styling Pontiac will have to price it under $30,000 to make much of an impact aganst it's competition and I don't see that happening. I expect it to be priced at $35,000+. I just don't see much of a market at that price. I still need to pull a saleman aside and get some more info on this car.

BTW, I found a little more info about it. It is a rebadged Holden Monaro. 109 inch wheelbase. 3700lbs. So it is a big heavy car and it's going to have a hard time competing aganst the lighter cars that are supposed to be it's competition. The Holden Monaro is priced at $59,000 that I assume is Australian currency. Not sure how much that is in the USA.
