Re: Party!

Hard to say, since we don't know how many people we are feeding. However, Victoria has offered to run to Costco for more should we run low. We are quite close.

Is 20 people a reasonable guess for starters? 3-4 people per pizza? So maybe start with 5 or 6 and go from there?

Got mine too, and hung it on the fridge where it belongs.

Mostly, I just wanted postcards so I would have a sweet picture of Joe's car to hang on the fridge:)

Re: Party location?

I thought the plan was to get pizza (so pot-luck not required), but BYOB I think is good. Also, if possible bring a folding chair, although Victoria counted the other day and came up with seats (of various types) for ~20, so not everyone needs to.

Shall we say 6-9ish? Do you need my address?

We have a few things stuck to our fridge. Plus, I think there are at least a few people who may not get the message without a post card. Lee Lester comes to mind, and there may be others.

Re: Party location?

It may be somewhat "standing room only" (though I hear that should actually be a goal when planning a party... encourages mingling), but if all else fails we can do it at my house. I would suggest that everyone who is able bring a folding chair or two, and we should be good. A stack of piz...

Re: 2015 Award Nominations

One thing that I think should be kept in mind with pork chop nominations is that it really should have a funny story to go along with it. That is what I find lacking from all of the situations this year. (This is to expand on what Kent said above). A bunch of car guys getting their van towed to the ...

Re: 2015 Award Nominations

I believe that was this year. Last year was the wheel coming off (for which they also got the pork chop), although I'm not sure it was ever actually presented to them (McT still has it). I suppose we could nominate McT for not giving it up when he had the chance... And if mechanical failures are to ...

I think you are onto something with the plasti-dip to be honest. Lets not over think this... just spray the bottom edge of the milk crate with plasti-dip, and throw the can in the van. Re-apply as necessary. And really, how often do we have problems with wind? That one event, sure, but in general, i...

Does it need to be kept on a tender the whole time or can you treat it like a regular battery? They are supposed to have a very low self discharge rate, making them good for cars that get stored a lot / only driven occasionally. Now, obviously they don't have a ton of reserve capacity, so if you ha...

The Nittos seem pretty immune to all other tire abuses, so I would guess they are fine. They are pret...

Chronicaling my AutoX Mis-haps through wheels (Also, 4 Sale)

Cleaning out the shop / crawl space. Turns out, I have a lot of sets of wheels laying around. All are 5x114.3 bolt pattern. First up, MB Motorsports "Weapon" wheels, 16x7+42 and 17x8+43. One of the rears has a slight bend in the outer lip (remember that curb at MSU way back in about '08). ...

How does one know what they can get away with? Good question. CCA is a measure of how much current the battery can supply over time. Basically, it's how many amps the battery can supply for 30 seconds straight and still meet a minimum voltage at the end (just looked this up today actually). Crankin...
